OUR TOWN

Located in Delta County down M35 is a small town know as Rock, also known as Maple Ridge Township. Rock was first settled in 1865 by Chicago and North Western Railway workers. J.R. Steele bought land in the community from the railroad in 1866 and settled there, and George English built a store there in the same year. The community was originally called Malton Spur. Then renamed Maple Ridge after the sugar maple trees that grew in the area.

Our small town is special because it carries a sense of community that is hard to find in larger cities. People tend to know each other, and there’s often a strong sense of belonging. Whether it’s through local traditions, shared memories, or just the slower pace of life, Rock has a unique way of making people feel grounded. There's such a beauty of simplicity. The things that matter most to the people in Rock— family, friends, local events — become the heart of our community. There’s a special kind of magic that comes from the everyday life here, whether it’s our local bar with the best pizza, or a spot by the river that everyone loves to gather at.

And of course, there's that timeless feeling of everyone looking out for each other. Even if you don’t know everyone by name, there's often an unspoken bond that creates a sense of safety and connection that truly makes Rock a special place to call home.
